Special Education & Student Support

Español¿Necesita esta información en español? Con gusto le ayudamos — llame a la oficina o pida un intérprete.

Ririe is a small school, and that's our advantage — we know every student by name, and we build support around the child, not the other way around.

Our Special Services team works with families from the first conversation through every IEP and 504 plan. If you think your child may need extra support — academic, speech, behavioral, or physical — start by talking to us. There's no wrong door.

Evaluations & referrals

Any parent or teacher can request an evaluation. We complete it within state timelines, walk you through the results in plain language, and decide together what comes next — at no cost to you.

IEP & 504 plans

We write plans that fit real classrooms at Ririe. You’re a full member of the team, meetings are scheduled around your availability, and interpreters are always available.

Speech, OT & related services

On‑site speech‑language therapy and visiting occupational and physical therapists mean most services happen right here, during the school day — no long drives to Idaho Falls.

Transition & life after Ririe

Starting at 16, we build a transition plan toward work, college, or training — with local partners who know our students.

Your rights

Under IDEA and Section 504, your child is entitled to a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. You have the right to be part of every decision, to request an evaluation at any time, and to receive notices in your preferred language.
